Confirmation

Confirmation completes the grace of Baptism by means of the imposition of hands, anointing with chrism, and the gift of the Holy Spirit in a kind of “personal Pentecost” that strengthens and confirms one's baptismal grace and “sets us aflame” by the Holy Spirit who imparts His gifts to empower us to live faithfully and dynamically in charisms given us for a personal mission in the world (see CCC 1288, 1293-1296, 1302-1305).

Confirmation preparation is a process of study, prayer, and service to others. Candidates will learn that this process is a model for Christian living throughout their adult lives.

As per diocesan guidelines and recommendations, Confirmation preparation is a two-year process, so in order to focus better on our students and their needs, new enrollment in this program is done in alternate years.

Students who started their Confirmation preparation last year will continue as Year 2 candidates for Confirmation as they anticipate a Spring 2026 reception of the Sacrament. All incoming freshmen will start their two-year Confirmation journey this Fall as Year 1 candidates. Both groups of Confirmation students will have their preparation instruction and small groups during many of their regular youth ministry nights.

Adults Seeking Confirmation

In many cases baptized Catholics have not been confirmed. If this describes you, you can learn more about this and confirmation catechesis (formation in the fundamentals of Catholic Faith and life) at our Exploring Catholicism page.
